Year 8

By Mr Bryce McDowell (Year 8 Teacher)

Medieval history came alive this week for the Yr 8’s.  Students dressed in their favourite medieval garb, engaged in dancing and dueling, and learned about bizarre medieval fashion sense.

The viking shield wall was a ‘hit’, and enabled students and teachers to vent their frustration by hurling a barrage of arrows (tennis balls) at their fellow classmates.

Tavern games provided a great opportunity to laugh and jeer, while the viking strategy game, Kubb, tested wits and dexterity.

The year 8’s tasted history as their ‘head, heart and hands’ were immersed in the everyday life of the Middle Ages.
