Beachside Soccer Tournament

Last Tuesday 23rd July our Year 5 and 6 girls Soccer team who won our Holt division headed to the next level of competition. The team were expertly coached by Andi Swain once again with me tagging along as the scorer! The girls had a fantastic day and won all rounds on their side of the pool. They made it to the semi-finals where they defeated their opposition with no problems. The Grand Final was played against Firbank who kicked the first goal. The girls were not going to let that get them down and they came back to win 3-2. The team will now progress through to the regionals on Monday 19th August. I have sent a CareMonkey in regards to this. Please can I ask that all parents to indicate if they will be taking their daughter home from the tournament as I will book a bus for only one way. Please be mindful that this is a student free day.

Thank-you to the parents who attended and especially Frankie’s dad who was our side line umpire all day at Beachside.

Hoop Time

Currently I am putting together the teams for Hoop Time. The year 5 and 6 teams will be playing on Thursday 12th September and the year 3 and 4 teams will be playing on Thursday 19th September both days will be held at MSAC. All students have indicated that they are keen to play so everyone will be in attendance.

We will be taking 7 year 5 and 6 teams and 6 for year 3 and 4. This means we require a large number of volunteers. If you are available and will be able to help it would be most appreciated. You do not need to be an expert basketball coach to assist. A CareMonkey will be sent out soon, however, if you already know you are available please send me an email and I can pop you down with your child's team.   gmcnamara@stjamesbrighton.catholic.edu.au

Holt District Athletics

This term we have the Holt District Athletics competition, this team is almost finalised. Students are only allowed to enter two individual and one relay event each. Teh team is chosen based on the results from the carnival held earlier this year. Students who qualified for more than one event have been asked this week which event they would like to complete in. Team members will be asked to participate in training sessions in the weeks leading up to this event.

Thank-you
