Principal's News

This weekend we conclude the celebration of First Eucharist for the final group of Year 3 children at 6pm Saturday night Mass.  A huge thanks to Ms Nooy and Mrs Herbert for the time and energy committed at school level to accompany the children on their continuing journey of faith.  In the previous weekends Fr Martin and Fr Barry have brought our attention the co responsibility we share as a parish adult community to continually critique our interpretation of the Gospel in order that it is meaningful and relevant for the world in which we live today. Often we get caught up in our ingrained expectations of how we have interpreted the Church message over past times, and even what a ‘traditional’ first communion would look like. We are indeed fortunate to have two men who bring a freshness and challenge to living a fulfilled and responsive life today. We have to be comfortable about talking about our faith and I believe Martin and Barry give us that opportunity to reflect on how we are able to reframe the context of what it is to be Catholic or whatever your faith commitment is.  Jesus was the ultimate recontextualized person who did interpret the times of his day to create a world of inclusion, love and respect.

Open our hearts, O Lord

To listen to the words of your son
