This term we celebrated literacy in our school during Library and Information Week from 20th-26th May.  There were a series of activities in the library including:

“Don’t Judge a Book by its Cover” – Lucky dip books wrapped with only their Genre identified for student borrowing.

Staff / Book match up competition and Library Scavenger Quiz with prizes included Scholastic Book vouchers. Congratulations to our 4 winners.

Students can also enter the Reader's Review Competition as part of the Vic Premiers Reading Challenge by writing a book review for your chance to win a prize pack of free books and a visit to Penguin publishing house in Melbourne.

We would like to share some great library data, with a significant improvement in student loans since this time last year by over 70%.

Some other interesting Library data includes that in term 1 this year our library processed over 17,000 transactions at the counter. This equates to approx. 1,700 per week, 340 per day and 85 per session!

We love seeing you all in the Library, and it is great to see that reflected in our student loans.

The library is open from 8.30am to 4.30pm. Recess and lunchtime are for schoolwork, study or independent reading.  We are now offering a DVD loan service.  Students may borrow 4 items on a fortnightly basis and are able to re-borrow if required.
