NSU Newsletter
Hello everyone,
The NSU or Nossal Societies Union is the governing body of all the extracurricular clubs and societies at Nossal. We stand as a uniting body to ensure our club system runs cohesively, students are able to meet with like minded people and pursue their interests and receive funding for any of their needs. The NSU coordinates events such as Club Sign-Up Day and Doughnut Day, which is our primary fundraiser. The former was conducted in early Term 1 with great success and we hope to do the same with Doughnut Day, which is planned to be held in the near future. The NSU Executive comprises of two Presidents – Nam Nguyen and Amy Chu, the Secretary – Nanditha Hareesh and the Treasurer – Dania Jacob. Feel free to contact us regarding any questions or concerns regarding clubs at Nossal.
Nossal has a wide range of clubs including K-Dance Club, United Nations Club and Drama Club. We hope to introduce the wider school community and parents to the various clubs and their passions each issue.

Tech Club
My name is Armaan Singh Sandhu and I’m the founding leader of Tech Club at Nossal High School. My passion is to innovate new solutions to problems around us through the use of a micro-controller called the Arduino. This club’s main aim is to learn more about the programming language C, especially learning how to use it to control different components, such as controlling L.E.D.s, controlling motors and reading data from sensors. We hope to grasp these concepts and eventually work towards building a robot that is able to manoeuvre itself away from obstacles, whilst having a lot of fun and sharing new ideas. So please join this club, it is a great way to learn new skills, and as Nossolonians all say, “Embrace the Challenge”!!! Lastly, our ultimate aim would be to use our new-founded skills to enter competitions.
We usually meet every second Thursday (mostly week B) in room 3DA. Our supporting teacher is Mr. Divinderjit Chattrath (Bobby), who will be providing the club with most of the equipment, as well as supporting and guiding us during meetings.
So far, we have been working on learning how to light up L.E.D.’s, along with adding push buttons into our circuits. We have also attained all the equipment from the NSU that will be required to start on our obstacle-avoiding-robot project. We have about 15 members and are looking for more, so if you have an interest in either engineering, programming or simply just learning a new skill, send me a message through Teams to fulfil your interests by joining this club.
K-Dance Club
Our K-Dance Club is a new club that only started this year. It's run by me (Cecilia) from Phoenix and Anastasia from Pegasus. Our meetings are held in the theatre every second Monday, on Week B at lunch time and we welcome anyone who's interested to come and join us!
At meetings, we select a song to teach from a spreadsheet of songs then work on it during the meeting. We've recently held our third meeting and we're working on our dances to enter Nossal's Got Talent. The dance is likely to consist the songs “Kill This Love” by Black Pink and “Boy with Luv” by BTS, and we're definitely looking forward to learning these dances and doing formations as a team. We're also considering performing for the Languages Day Assembly. Although “K-Pop” might not be recognized by some people, we are determined to show our best as a club.
