Deputy Principal's Message

We have a busy fortnight coming up with ACOS rehearsals and performances through the week as well as sporting and debating events in Week 5. It will be halfway through the term before we know it!

UNE Education Student visit

Last Monday, Dr Marty Schmude and a group of students in their first year of education training at UNE, spent time our the Stage 3 classrooms to experience a mathematics lesson and hone their skills in administering mathematics assessments tasks in the primary school setting. The students found their visit to be a highly enjoyable and valuable experience and were impressed by what they saw from our students. Thank you to our Stage 3 teachers and students for accommodating this collaboration with the UNE School of Education.

The importance of arriving on time

Arriving at school and class on time:

  • Ensures your child does not miss out on important learning activities scheduled early in the day.
  • Helps students learn the importance of punctuality and routine.
  • Give students time to greet their friends before class.
  • Reduces classroom disruption.

Lateness is recorded as a partial absence and must be explained by parents/carers.

Travel

Families are encouraged to travel during school holidays. If travel during school term is necessary, please discuss this with your child’s teacher prior to your travel and inform the office via phone or email of your intention to take leave. An Application for Extended Leave will need to be completed if the absence is for 11 or more school days. Application forms can be collected from the office or emailed on request.
