Division Netball

Division Netball report

By Zara T and Tahlia B

Not so long ago, on the 15th of August, the NPS Girls Netball Team battled it out against other highly skilled teams from around the Northern Metropolitan Region. We tried our very best and came out as the 5th best team in the area.

We were challenged with 3 amazing teams. In the first game, we played against Diamond Creek. They were an outstanding team and they beat us, 21 - 12, but it was a very good experience to learn and improve our skills, as was the next game against Kismet Park. We unfortunately lost this one too, but we had a whole lot of fun. After that we had one last game to play against Carlton North. They were also an incredible team and we managed to beat them, 15 - 7.

We did an awesome job, considering we had 1 sub, 1 absent from an injury and 1 injured

 in-game.

A proud parent's update on Division Netball

The girls  were fantastic - highly competitive and committed to giving their best in each game.

Unfortunately, we had a general height disadvantage compared to some of our competition and with no Francesca (injured) and only half an Adelle (somewhat injured but determined to play), it made it a little harder than it could have been, had we had a fully fit team.

We played Glen Katherine in our first game and unfortunately lost to them, and then had another loss to Kismet Park in our second game.  This meant that we played Carlton Primary School in the playoffs, which we won convincingly - a great way to end the day!  Overall, the girls finished a highly respectable 5th best in the Region 🙂

While there was no support from NPS, the team was very lucky to have a huge cheer squad made up of parents, grandparents and extended family members.
