VCE/VM

Frankie Flanagan - VCE and VCAL Program Leader

Term Three - VCE VM

Our VCE Vocational Major students have been working very hard to bring their senior projects together. The students invited members of our community and people with experience in industry to come and share their understanding and wisdom with them. Our students catered for the event and hosted our guests for morning tea in the Graduates Restaurant. They should be very proud of the professional service they offered and the quality of questions they asked. Feedback from the students was extremely positive and reflected the success of the event.

Student Reflections:

“On 10 August, the VM students held a morning tea with some of the teachers' parents and discussed the struggles of their careers and family lives, how work was viewed differently in their time, and how they manage a healthy work-life balance.

They gave us advice on how to tackle work and keep going, no matter the circumstances. Overall, this experience was both engaging and positive, providing insight into how work looked at different times.”  Calvin Fonseka.

“...the Year 11 and 12 VM students organised a morning tea with some of the parents of staff members to engage in a casual conversation about future career paths and to seek advice for life after high school.

Our class was entirely responsible for preparing food and serving drinks. The event was highly enlightening and enjoyable; many of us felt a sense of independence as we were able to manage the event's flow.

We enjoyed a cultural performance by our SJRC students and had the privilege of practicing sign language withMrs Dias' sister.”
