Winter Sport Round 2

This Friday 28th July our Year 6 students will walk to Elliminyt Primary School to participate in the second round of the Winter Sports Competition. This will take place between 11:30am and 1:30pm (students may have a lunch order). Sports on the day are football, netball or mixed games. All students will need to wear their sports uniform and bring along the appropriate gear for their chosen sport e.g. football boots, football shorts etc (football jumpers will be supplied on the day). 

 

Year 5 Winter Sport

This Friday 28th July, the Year 5 students will have their own winter sport competition at Sacred Heart. This will take place from 11:45am to 1:30pm. All students will need to wear their sports uniform. The sports they will be participating in are; badminton, soccer and netball.

 

Winter Sport Round 3

On Friday 4th August our Year 5 and 6 students will travel by bus to St Mary’s to participate in Round 3 of the Winter Sports competition. The bus will leave Sacred Heart at 11:40am and return at 1:30pm (students may have a lunch order). All students will need to wear their sports uniform.

 

Trinity Sport and Recreation Students

A big thank you to Karen Hart and the Trinity College ‘Sport and Recreation’ students who coached our Year 5 and 6 students in one or two of the following sports – football, basketball, cricket and soccer. The Trinity students were assessed in their coaching for each of the sports that they delivered. Sacred Heart students were asked to assess their coaching abilities and overall “we thought they were FANTASTIC”.

 

Colac Division Badminton Tournament

We are currently learning about badminton in our Year 5 and 6 sports classes. This is in preparation for the Colac Division Badminton Tournament which will be held at the Colac Showgrounds on Friday 18th August. We are hoping to send two teams to this event.

Name: Saxon Finn (Yr 4SF)

1. Which sport is your favourite to play and why? Soccer is my favourite sport.

2. What is your best sporting moment? My best sporting moment was when I kicked a goal from half court.

3. Which strengths do you believe you have that make you a good athlete? My strengths in soccer are my good skills.

4. Why do you love playing sports? I love playing sport because it is fun and I am good at sport.

5. Who is your favourite sports person? Lionel Messi Why are they your favourite? He is my favourite soccer player because he is one of the best in the world.

6. What is your favourite sporting team? Melbourne City Soccer Team

 

Name: Regan Smart (Yr 4 DC)

1. Which sport is your favourite to play and why? My favourite sport is basketball because I have a lot of fun when I play it.

2. What is your best sporting moment? When I played GA in netball and I shot some goals.

3. Which strengths do you believe you have that make you a good athlete? My strengths in sport is that I am a fast runner and I am strong. I also display good sportmanship by sharing the ball around.

4. Why do you love playing sports? I love playing sport because I get to know different people and I have lots of fun.

5. Who is your favourite sports person? Dusty Martin. Why are they your favourite? He is my favourite footballer because he is a champion.

6. What is your favourite sporting team? Richmond

1. Which sport is your favourite to play and why? My favourite sport is football because it is fun to play with your mates.

2. What is your best sporting moment? My best sporting moment was winning a basketball grand final.

3. Which strengths do you believe you have that make you a good athlete? My strengths in sport are my skills and I display good sportsmanship.

4. Why do you love playing sports? I love playing sports because it is fun to play with my friends.

5. Who is your favourite sports person? Tom Hawkins. Why are they your favourite? Tom Hawkins is my favourite player because he is very talented and he can kick great goals.

6. What is your favourite sporting team? My favourite sporting team is the Geelong Cats
