Religious Education & Faith Life
On Tuesday night, some of our Year Three students received the Sacrament of Reconciliation. The Sacrament of Reconciliation may be referred to as Confession, or Penance. It is a celebration of God's love and forgiveness, and the joy of returning to a happy relationship with God.
There are three Rites of Reconciliation. In Australia, people only experience the first two Rites of Reconciliation. The First Rite of Reconciliation is when a person goes to the priest individually. The second way of celebrating Reconciliation is with others, except for the confession of sins. In our parish, this is how the children usually receive the Sacrament for the first time, and when they receive the Sacrament at school.
Last week, in preparation to receive the Sacrament the children attended a retreat with the children from Holy Cross College, Emmaus Catholic Primary School and the Parish Prep children.
