Primary School News

Year 4 Magpie | Mr Morris | Reconciliation Project

Head of Primary, Tracey Rogers

It was wonderful to welcome students back last week and to get Term 3 off to a great start. More details for this term were sent to families in the Welcome Back letter sent via SEQTA last week. There is a lot happening around Primary this term. Thank you to parents for the attention to detail with uniforms this week – the students were looking very smart for their photos!

Our Welcome Back Assembly was a highlight as we acknowledged NAIDOC Week and commissioned our Semester 2 Class Representatives. As many of our students don’t regularly attend an Anglican Church, we also discussed some of the ways we show respect when we go to Chapel. Things such as wearing our full uniform well (dressing appropriately), respecting the quiet of the Chapel space and ways to participate well were all discussed with the students. It has been lovely to see this in practice as our weekly Chapels got underway. It has also been wonderful to hear the contributions of students who practice a different religion when they share their knowledge and understanding.

Inter-School Cross Country

Our IPSHA Inter-School Cross Country Team competed on Friday 28 July and did an excellent job of representing themselves and their school. There were some great results, and as always, a few personal bests! Congratulations to the Team and thank you to the staff who supported them along the way and on the day.

We had our first Parent Coffee Morning on Tuesday 1 August and it was lovely to sit and share with parents. For our next event in September, parents have expressed an interest in learning a bit more about Numeracy Development, AI application in school and the Primary Years Programme (PYP). The survey is still open for suggestions using the following link –

With Founders’ Day and a P&F Disco on the way, there is much to look forward to.

Take care.
