YOUTH SUMMIT
TOGETHER FOR HUMANITY YOUTH SUMMIT
We are exceptionally proud of April and Abbey who attended the Together for Humanity Youth Summit at Melbourne University Tuesday. They left chilly Korumburra at 6.30am, negotiating cancelled trains and peak hour commuters to deliver their presentation to various community leaders and politicians. The students worked alongside Templestowe College to refine their concept of developing e-learning modules for staff to assist schools (and other government funded services) to become welcome, inclusive and supportive places for neurodivergent students and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. The students’ presentation was supported by local data and organisations, and they are hopeful their initiative will be considered for development in the future. Both students demonstrated strong presentation skills, as well as kindness, empathy and collaborative skills as they worked alongside their peers to refine their ideas. This was an exceptional effort from two of our passionate and dedicated student leaders. Well done April and Abbey.
