SCHOOL BUS PROGRAM

BUS TRAVEL FOR STUDENTS

Students may be eligible to travel on one of the eight Korumburra school buses if they live more than 4.8 kilometres out of Korumburra.  Bus travel is free as long as your child/children are attending their nearest school.

In order to fulfill legal requirements, there are strict rules concerning bus travel, one of them being that a student must have a bus pass in order to catch a bus that they are not registered on OR if the student is required to get off at a different bus stop even though they are on their normal bus.  If a bus is at full seating capacity, no bus passes will be issued therefore parents will need to make other arrangements for their child's afterschool activity.

Bus drivers are not allowed by law to let a student on their bus without a pass and are also not allowed to let a student off the bus at a different stop without notification.

The bus coordinator at KSC is Ms Jenkin who is situated in the Library.  Passes will be issued to students before school, recess or at lunch time as long as the student has a written and signed note from their parent stating which bus the student is required to travel on and where they are to get off the bus.  The bus coordinator must be satisfied that it is an authentic note or the parent will be contacted for clarification.

Please note - we are no longer accepting text messages from parents requesting a bus pass.  If you cannot send a note with your child, please ring the school to organise a pass.

These rules are in place in order to keep your child/children safe and we appreciate your support in this matter.
