Principal's Report

By Carolyn Serpell

Today, students in Years 3 & 4 enjoyed their first day of X-country skiing.  Many thanks again to Howman's and our instructors Sheepy, Belinda and the team from FCXC, supported by Steph, Kathryn, Kath, Bronwyn, Michelle, Misa and Nathan.  The program will continue each Thursday for the next three weeks.

Commencing next Friday, for three weeks, students in Year 5/6 will also head to the snow for their downhill skiing and snow boarding program.  Many thanks to Dave, Charlotte and the many parent volunteers who will be assisting with this program.

Yesterday was National Educator's Day and an opportunity to acknowledge our OSHC team and all that they do to support our students and families, as well as the broader aspects of our school and community.  We greatly value the service they provide through before and after-school care, as well as vacation care, for students attending primary school in Mount Beauty, Tawonga and Dederang.

A reminder that next Wednesday, 2nd August, we will have a special music performance from students in Prep - 3 and the choir.  The theme of this performance is Songs, Sound Effects and Silliness!  The performance will be  will be held in the BER building, commencing at 2.30pm and families are invited to join us, for this

For students who have registered to participate, the Australian Maths Competition will also be held next Wednesday, 2nd August.

On Wednesday the 9th of August, we will be celebrating Book Week with a special 'dress up as your favourite book character' day, which will include a parade and whole school activities linked to short-listed books.  This annual event is always associated with lots of excitement, and students are encouraged to start planning their costumes!  In the afternoon, we will be hosting our annual Book Fair, to help raise funds for our library.
