Upper Hume Boys Netball

BARR reserve, Wangaratta, Wednesday 26th July 2023

A fantastic day of great skills, ariel jumps, great shots, sneaky tips, chase downs and quick hands and feet, at the boys Upper Hume Interschool netball today.

A big thank-you to Sandy Newman and her team of helpers Ellie Meggs, Zoi Miliankos King and Ava Byrne for the smooth event organisation on the day.

Sandy and her team coordinated 3 age group round robins, a total of 19 teams and all the umpires for each game.

Great job by Leah Anderson umpiring today.

A big thank-you to the coaches of the Year 7 & 8 team: Sam Couche, Harrison Goeby, Pieper Gottschling and Georgia Meggs. These students worked with the Year 7 & 8 team for six games and improved their skills and understanding of the game of netball. Well done.

A big thank-you to Sheri Parkhouse for coaching the Year 11 and 12 team.

Senior Boys Team

The senior boys team were gallant in defeat.  The boys came up against some stiff competition and were never out of the game, sadly they came away with no wins – however, challenged every team that opposed them.  The true spirit of Wangaratta High School was embossed with this team, they were respectful, showed kindness and helpful attitudes to both students and teachers on the day and were the epitome of good sports, showcasing our school values to the highest standard.  Well done boys, a great day out.

Congratulations boys.

The next round is Thursday 10th August at the BARR reserve.
