Grade 3 & 4

Term 3 -  Week 3

Thank you to all families who were able to come into your student-led conference, it was pleasing to listen to the students share their learning and how proud they were to share it with their family.

After completing picture story books about an animal, the students are now writing their memoir to follow on from Anh Do's story.

What is hospitality?

The students watched and listened to a story called 'Grandpa's Soup' They found out what it meant to be sharing a meal and how much better it tasted, and even the illustrations in the book changed colour. We discussed the role of the host and the guest. In the story - the guests helped Grandpa find joy in his life again. Hospitality therefore was offered to everyone in Grandpa's kitchen and he found meaning in his life once more.

The students then began to design their own symbol or image of what hospitality means to them.

We are beginning our Inquiry unit where the students are sharing an object/artefact that makes a connection to them and share with their peers.

The teachers shared some of their artefacts last week and told their stories. This will link into our next unit - stayed tuned as to what it is!!
