Chi Rho Teens -  St Francis Xavier Catholic Church (Armadale Parish)

Are you, or do you know, a high school student who wants to learn more about the Catholic faith, or who needs to 'catch up' on one or more sacraments (Baptism, Reconciliation, Eucharist, Confirmation)?

Chi Rho (Teens) is aimed at helping young people in high schools who are interested in learning more about the Catholic faith and wanting to be fully initiated members of the Church, to discover some of the richness of our tradition and journey towards the celebration of these sacraments.

Free, Healed & Whole: Personal Growth & Integration through Christ

Our God is a God who loves us and who works constantly for our wholeness. This course explores a treasury of avenues Christ offers, to heal us and make us free and whole in Him.

Students will be encouraged to identify their operating image of God; recognise and heal the core identity wounds, all while growing in awareness, resilience and conflict resolution, even after negative experiences of vulnerability.

This will be done in the context of establishing healthy boundaries and leaning into Christ’s Divine Mercy. Other topics of consideration include St Ignatius of Loyola’s discernment of spirits and the work of the Holy Spirit in healing and rejuvenating us through the sacraments, prayerful intimacy with God and practice of the virtues.

The course culminates in a mature understanding of free mature human action, so we can be an unstoppable gift to the world, even in trying times.

The Pentateuch: Five Books for the Foundation of our Faith

The first five books of the Old Testament are referred to as the Pentateuch and comprise Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. They recount the story of Israel from their origins to their exodus from Egypt. Are these books simply historical accounts or is there more to them?

This course examines the Pentateuch books: why they were written, what their message is and how we can understand it.
