Hospitality Taster Course

Over the past eight school weeks, 37 of our Year 11 VCE-VM students have undertaken a Hospitality Taster Course which has given them an abundance of additional skills and training for their future. The students have completed their Responsible Serving of Alcohol, First Aid and Food Handler’s certificates and training around barista and non-alcoholic beverages. Our students also kindly put their new skills to the test by making coffees for many of the Gisborne Secondary College staff members which was a mammoth task where they made over 100 different coffee orders.

Our VCE-VM students have conducted themselves responsibly and with maturity and I am extremely proud of their efforts over the past eight weeks. I would also like to extend a large thank you to Short Courses Australia who facilitated this course, and all the Year 11 VCE-VM teachers for their support on this journey!
