Girls in Physics Breakfast

A few weeks ago, the year 12 female Physics students  attended the ‘Girls in Physics Breakfast’, hosted by VICPhysics at Monash University

At the breakfast, students shared tables with at least three women who are either in a career in physics or engineering, or are at university as an undergraduate or a postgraduate. The students have a chance to ask questions about their careers and what study at university is like.  Our students were also seated with students from other schools.

One of the many highlights of the breakfast was to hear from the Keynote Speaker Dr Karen Livesey. She spoke on Nanomagnets and her research with both medical and technological applications.

There was also time mingle and speak to the many women present on their careers/research/study.  It was hard to drag them away to get back to school.

Many thanks to Mr Russell for accompanying us on this wonderful event.
