Assistant Principal Report Senior School

By James Cumming

We are now over the halfway mark of Term 3; all senior students will be in the process of completing coursework and a range of assessment tasks across all their subjects. Students completing a unit 3+4 subject are closing in on the end of their coursework for unit 4. I encourage all students to remain focused and continue to follow strong study habits and routines. A range of organisational strategies, study techniques and note taking techniques have been covered during VCE Program sessions, aiming to support students to implement positive strategies into their practice. It has been pleasing to see a strong number of students staying behind after school to use the senior centre as a study space. In the coming weeks teachers will shift the focus to exam preparation.

The VCE exam period commences on Tuesday 24th of October and Year 10+11 exams on Monday 13th of November. Exams can be stressful for students. Students should ensure they are managing stress through a range of proactive strategies including exercise, social outlets, diet and sleep.

On Thursday 27th of July we held the Senior Academic Breakfast, celebrating the academic success of students in years 10 and 11. Students who were ranked in the top 5% of the cohort attended the breakfast and received a certificate at year level assemblies.
