Academic Awards Semester 1
It was wonderful to be able to celebrate the top academic performers of semester one with their parents/guardians at breakfasts over the last two weeks. It was an opportunity to recognise the hard work of the students in semester one and to share with parents the success of their child.
School Production – All Shook Up
Across the 3rd-5th August the Theatre came alive with the talents of our students performing in the first school production in five years.
Watching on the Thursday night it really resonated with me of the many avenues that the school allows students to pursue. To see the delight of the performers both during and after the show really cements why we offer such a wide range of opportunities for our students.
Parent School Survey
These are run annually by the Department of Education and Training (DET). The data collected is used by schools to inform their decision making. Parents are randomly selected to undertake the survey. As in the previous three years the survey is being completed electronically. Those parents selected to complete the survey will have received an email containing the link and login details from the school. The surveys are anonymous. The results are aggregated and then released to the school in September. The results will then be shared with the school community. I thank in advance those parents who are selected for completing the survey.
Athletics Carnival
On Tuesday 8th August the annual athletics carnival was held at Dolomore Athletics Track. We were very fortunate with the weather. A chilly, misty start was the prelude to bright blue sky and no wind. A perfect day for athletics. Congratulations to all students in attendance for their enthusiasm and their willingness to “have a go’ whether that was in a traditional event or one of the many novelty events. My thanks also to all staff for their assistance on all the tasks that need to be done on such a day. In the end the winning house was Wurneet with only 120 points separating the four houses.
