2019 GRIP Student Leadership Conference - Grade 6
The GRIP Student Leadership Conference (Melbourne Exhibition Centre) is on Wednesday 13th March. This is a great way for your child to learn more about leadership and themselves as leaders. Students will catch a VLINE Train to the venue departing from Ballarat Station to Melbourne (Southern Cross Station) at 6:44am (Please arrive no later than 6:30am for roll marking). Students are scheduled to be and arriving back at Ballarat Station at approximately 4:44pm. Students will need to bring their own Myki with money pre-loaded for travel to Melbourne and back.
Grade 4 Camp
The Grade 4 camp is this week (14th & 15th March). The students will be visiting Anglesea for the night for lots of fun and hopefully plenty of sleep! Ms Geddes will be joining the students on camp, which will ensure that the students know a familiar face. Students will be meeting at the Buninyong campus on Thursday 14th at 7.45am ready for an 8am departure.
Gr 6 Grand Prix Excursion
Students have the opportunity to participate in an exciting day at the 2019 Formula One Grand Prix on Friday 15th March. Students will attend the event via bus, and will have the opportunity to view a range of different motor cars racing, including the formula one cars. The day will provide students with the opportunity to learn about Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths in exciting ways. Students will need to bring a packed lunch, a water bottle and their school hat. Students may also bring a maximum of $5 spending money on the day. We ask that students do not bring iPads or technology.
Hansel & Gretel
As part of the Gr P-2 unit on Fairy Tales and Fables, SC1 is attending a pantomime performance of Hansel and Gretel on Wednesday 20th March at the Buninyong Town Hall. Students will then spend the day at the Buninyong campus where a range of educational activities will complement the performance. Students will need to be dropped off at the Buninyong Campus at 8:45am and collected at the end of the day from Buninyong campus at 3:30pm. Buses and after hours school care will operate as normal. The cost for the day is $12.00 and permission notes need to be returned to the Buninyong office or Mrs Anderson by Tuesday, March 12th.
School Fete
This year, the school fete will be held at the Buninyong Campus on Friday 22nd March. Scotsburn will be responsible for the BBQ (SC1), Wood raffle (SC2) and Hot Dog Stall (SC3). We would again like to thank the Plier family for donating the wood. A roster for helpers has been sent home. We are currently running a little short on helpers. As this is our major fundraiser for the year, it would be great if all families could help out in a time slot on at least one of these stalls and return it ASAP.
Zooper Doopers
Axel will be selling Zooper Doopers this Thursday for $1.
Thankyou Quinn & Naomi
A big thanks to Quinn and Naomi for dropping into school over the long weekend to check on our chooks and also to bring them some straw. Thanks also to Naomi for stepping in to take a Spelling mastery group on Tuesday too.

Lunch orders need to be collected from the Buninyong campus at 12.40pm. Please ensure you organise a swap if necessary so that the students don’t go hungry!
