Year 6 Leaders
Amanda
Hi! My name is Amanda and I like to play the piano. I have a family of four. My mum and dad, Sing and Cindy, and my brother, Jeremy. My hobbies are playing piano and reading. I applied for this position so that I can help children learn the most they can while they are here. I also want to improve my leadership skills while I’m here.

- Winston Churchill
Oscar
Hi, my name is Oscar, and I am one of the School Captains of Oakleigh Primary School for 2020. Here are some things about me: I like cooking (especially baking!), sports like footy, soccer and athletics and chatting with my mates. Some of my hobbies are: pogo sticking, rollerblading, I enjoy fish-aking (fishing off my kayak) and also camping. Some of the things that I hope to do as School Captain are starting up a plastic bag recycling program, cosmetics packaging recycling as well as tinned food donations and old clothes donations to places and people who need it.
One of my most embarrassing moments was when midway through footy training, I went for an overhead mark, but as I was jumping I heard something rip and I realised that my pants had a split in them! See ya soon!
Niki
Hi my name is Niki and I am one of the school Vice Captains of 2020. I have two sisters, Anthi and Elona who also are at Oakleigh Primary School. My heritage from both sides of my parents is Greek and I am proud to be able to speak and write it. My favourite after school activities are singing, dancing and acting. I also do Little Athletics and squad swimming. As a school Vice Captain, I would like to get better at speaking in front of a big crowd and have the chance to have more responsibilities.
My favourite actress is Zendaya Coleman and one of her amazing quotes is: “Don’t try so hard to fit in and certainly don’t try so hard to be different, just try to be you.”
Aki
Hello. My name is Aki Koda Olsen, and I am a school Vice Captain for this year.
My mother, Miho, is from Japan and my father, Jesse, is from America. My big sister, Emma, is in Year 8, and my little brother, Asa, is in Year 3. I am Japanese and American and I am bilingual. I have mostly a Japanese culture at home. For example, we take off our shoes inside. Some things I like to do are Rubik’s cubes. Sometimes, you may see me outside with Rubik’s cubes. I also play tennis and piano, and I have swimming lessons too. My captain goal for this year is to make everyone enjoy going to school.
And just to keep you thinking, here’s a joke. What do you call a fish with no eyes? The answer is “fsh”! Bye, and hope to see you around!
Zara
Hi my name is Zara and I live at home with my mum, dad, and older sister. I was born in Australia but we still celebrate traditions from both of my parents backgrounds, which are Albanian and Greek. Outside of school my favourite hobbies are gymnastics and drawing. As a Vice Captain at Oakleigh Primary School I would like to work on my confidence on stage. I strongly believe that everyone should try their best and never give up.
Keely
My life is pretty interesting. So here is an insight into the life of Keely! I live with my mum (Sheridan), my dad (Stephen) and my crazy little brother (Jaron). I also have my Nan and Grumpy that live in Sydney, as well as my Nan and Pop that live in Melbourne. My family celebrates lots of things like Christmas, Easter, birthdays and more. Every year my family is either in Melbourne for Christmas or in Sydney. We alternate between places for Christmas because some families live in Melbourne and others in Sydney. I have lots of hobbies, for instance, I love to play sports with my family and friends. I also love to go out with my friends. I love to sing, dance around, create things (art) and overall just have fun! My goal as school Vice Captain is to make sure that everyone is having a good time at school and feels safe.
What did the cheese say to the grater? Have a grate time!
Jacob
Hi my name is Jacob,
My favourite colour is blue. I love to have fun and mess around. My Favourite book series is Harry Potter and I am up to the chamber of secrets. I have a little brother whose name is Lachie. He is 2k. I love my family. In my free time I like to play video games such as Roblox, Minecraft, FIFA and so much more. My birthday is on the 10th September and well that's all I can really say. So If you have any questions or your kid/s attending this school I won't mind if you come and ask me some so see you at assembly.
Krish
My grandpa, sister, father, and mother we all live in the same house. We follow Hindu culture. Hinduism is the world's third largest religion. It is an Indian religion and dharma, or way of life, widely practised in the Indian subcontinent and parts of Southeast Asia. My hobbies are playing cricket and cubing. As school vice captain I want to make sure that everybody is treated fairly and that older children at the school cannot be in charge of the younger children. Before I finish I’ve got a joke, why did the stadium get hot after the game? Because all the fans left.
Matilda
Hi my name is Matilda. I’ve got a family of six which includes my mum, my grandma and three brothers (Eli, Noah and Patrick). Having three brothers can be really annoying. I am part Irish, Dutch, English and of course Aussie. Irish and Dutch are from my mum’s side and English is from my dad’s side. My goals as a member of the Leadership team are to inspire others to have high hopes, reach for the stars and do their best in everything they do. My hobbies include: gymnastics, singing, hanging out with friends and guides. All these things I enjoy doing because they’re fun and relaxing.

So I’d like to introduce myself. I am half Japanese, half Korean and I have a family of seven, including two cats (Hina & Pablo). I am a very adventurous person with a bubbly personality. I love to listen to music wherever I go and I like to write many stories. I enjoy being outside doing whatever and whenever! Especially walking. I enjoy drawing animations and watching lots of movies with my family. I’m a very playful person and love playing cards with friends and family. I’m so excited to see all of you and help the school!
