Junior School News
Welcome back to Term 3 in Junior School. We hope that students and their families enjoyed a lovely holiday break and are feeling energised and ready to make a great start to the new term.
Trivia afternoon
Our Year 7 students celebrated the end of Term 3 with a Trivia afternoon at Manningham Function Centre. It was a fantastic way to see students working together in their teams to decorate their tables in their House colours and compete enthusiastically in each round of the trivia. After much fun, laughter and comradery our winning team came from Jackman House.
Brainstorm Theatre Production
On Thursday the 26th of July, Year 7 students were invited to watch the action-packed Brainstorm Production “The Hurting Game” to show students how ongoing negative relationships at school and online can affect their mental health, emotional wellbeing and could have future implications. The show aimed to challenge students' unrealistic expectations and the impact of peer pressure whilst providing strategies for positive decision making.
Year 8 Wellbeing days
On Tuesday the 24th, Wednesday the 25th and Thursday the 26th of August, our Year 8 students attended the Wellbeing Days at EV’s in Croydon.
Students were involved in discussions and activities in which they learned more about healthy relationships and the safe and legal use of social media. The students were actively engaged in each session, with the afternoon allowing students to be involved in sharing their ideas, knowledge and cooperating together in a positive manner.
Junior School Awards
The Junior School Awards afternoon will be held on Wednesday the 1st of August. This event is to acknowledge and recognise the academic achievements that students have earned as a result of their performance throughout Semester 1. Those that are eligible for an academic award have been notified via compass/email and parents of award recipients are required to RSVP by Friday the 27th of July as per the invitation.
