Principal's Post

From the Principal

Welcome back to another busy term 3 as we continue to make progress across a range of areas.

Congratulations to all students who achieved highly in semester 1 and continue to achieve personal bests. We look forward to recognising and celebrating your success at awards’ functions for students across Years 7 -10 in the coming weeks.

Many of our sporting teams are competing in State and Regional finals in the next few months. The State cross country championships were held last Thursday at Bundoora, with Harry Norman finishing second in his event and is shortly to run in the national championships.  A special congratulations to the under 14 Girls team who were State Champions – Sienna Koh, Jemima Wilson, Mia Busch, Olivia Henry and Lucy Fairhurst.

Throughout August our music students will compete in the Victorian Schools Music Festival at Deakin Edge, the Australian Music Institute and Hawthorn Town Hall and at the Royal South Street events at HM Ballarat.

The Addams Family opening night is now only 3 weeks away and rehearsals are progressing well, with a successful production camp at Mt Evelyn held in preparation last week. Ticket sales are now close to 80% for the season and we expect that most performances will sell out before opening night. I would encourage you to book a ticket now so that you are not disappointed. www.rscproduction.com.au . Some shows may sell out in the next fortnight.

This term we welcome Ms Alyce Bailey as our new Head of Positive Education and Pathways and her role as House Coordinator in the middle school will be undertaken by Mrs Jacqui Godfrey.  In backfilling positions for Anna Benson, we are also pleased to have Ms Andrea Evans join our staff, Mr Benn Jamieson and Ms Lucy Moore will take over teaching of VCE History classes.
