2020 Meet & Greet / Welcome Picnic

We would like to invite all of our families on Tuesday 11th February from 5pm-7pm for our first official get together of the year. This night will take the place of our Welcome Picnic and Meet & Greet that has taken place on separate nights in the past. We will begin the evening in the Multi-Purpose room (Shed) at 5.30pm with a whole campus information session when all staff will provide a snapshot of their classroom and information specific to their class. Following this will be an optional opportunity for parents to catch staff individually for a quick chat to inform them of any specific information you would like them to know. During this time, families will be free to enjoy their picnic tea together outside. This will be a lovely opportunity for families to catch up, and we hope that you can attend.  Due to the sad passing of Shaun O’Loughlin’s father Brendan, Shaun will not be in attendance on this afternoon.

Thanks Peter Mould

A big thank you to Peter Mould for filling in for Shaun in SC2 while he is away. It is with great sadness that Shaun is away due to the passing of his much-loved father last week. Our heartfelt sympathy to Shaun and his family at this very sad time. We are thinking of you all. We know Peter will do a terrific job – we hear he dances really well!

P-6 Cross Country – 18th February

Students from Prep to Grade 6 will take part in the annual Interhouse Cross Country, which is based around a variety of courses within close proximity to Buninyong PS. All students are encouraged to wear their house colours. Please see your classroom teacher if you are unsure of your house colour. Appropriate weather attire to be worn (including hat - compulsory). Prep to Grade 2 will start the day at the Buninyong Campus. A note will be sent home this week with more information regarding busses.

Please see the Physical Education section of the newsletter for more information.

Spelling Mastery Helpers

To ensure that the students are able to work in the group that best suits their needs, we still require a parent to help facilitate Spelling Mastery on a Friday morning from 9am starting in week 3. It takes about 20 minutes, no experience is necessary and only requires you to have a current Working With Children’s Check. If you can help, please see Ana or Kelly this week.

After School Monitoring

As we know, things can get a bit hectic after school as staff work to ensure that students who should be on the bus are safely on, and parents collecting their children can do so safely. To assist with this, we kindly ask that adults drive at a safe speed. It would also be greatly appreciated if parents who are collecting their children from school could help out staff by ensuring that their children are not playing ball games near the entrance or climbing trees. We’ll always have staff on duty after school, but we also like to make ourselves available to chat to parents should they require a quick word. Many thanks in advance.

ABC and ROCCH Awards

Congratulations to our Grade 6s.

A huge congratulations to Quinn, Ivy and Jackson who did a fantastic job at running their first assembly on Monday. We look forward to all the wonderful things you will share with us throughout this term. It is wonderful to see all our Grade 6s committing to their campus leadership roles. Well done – keep it up!

Zooper Doopers

Zooper Doopers will be on sale this Thursdays for $1.00. The money raised helps us purchase food for our campus pets. Thank you.

When – Sunday 23rd February, 10:00am –  3:30pm.

We will be participating in the Buninyong 2020 Smart Building & Living Expo again this year. Buninyong / Scotsburn students will have the opportunity to show case what opportunities they will be participating in this year. We will be exhibiting both solar boats and energy breakthrough vehicles, as well as selling plats to help assist in the cost of these fantastic opportunities our students have on offer. If you have any unwanted coffee cups and succulent cuttings can you please bring them in to school. If any in Grade 6 students would like to be involved and assist on the day can you please come and see Mrs Anderson.
