Ukulele

Ukulele Club
Ukulele Club begins again this Thursday at lunchtime in the Music Room. This year we are welcoming students from Grades 4 to 6. During our lessons students will be taught songs, some basic music theory, and will perform at assemblies when they’re ready.
Students do not need a ukulele at home, as one will be provided at school, although having one would certainly help. Ukuleles are probably one of the cheapest instruments available and can be picked up for around $25 at any music store. Of course, you can pay much more than that but, I’d suggest seeing if your child shows an interest first before paying the big bucks!
Here is the truth about the ukulele:
- It’s inexpensive
- It’s portable
- It can play any type of music from anywhere in the world
- It sounds good
- It’s a solo instrument
- It’s an ensemble instrument
- It’s an ideal tool for developing the ear
- It’s an excellent way to learn harmony and theory
- You can sing and strum at the same time
- And of course... it’s fun!
Looking forward to seeing everyone there.
