Year 11

It has been a very busy term for the girls as they complete the first unit of their VCE subjects. The resilience the girls have shown over the past semester with the uncertainty of whether we would be at school or learning remotely is admirable. They have also had to deal with the GAT being postponed and examinations coming after another period of remote learning.

So many times, they have demonstrated our motto of Strength and Kindliness, either through asking if someone needed support, the sharing of ideas or the setting up of small study groups to support each other in their learning.

The examination period will provide the students with an opportunity to sit in the Hall and experience the formal procedures of examinations. They have made excellent use of revision classes and many have utilised the Library after school to seek support from their teachers and tutors. In the coming weeks, students will be invited to review their results and using feedback given by their teachers, set some goals for their Unit 2 studies.

On 23 June (if border restrictions are eased)  40 students will set off to the 'top end' for their study tour, travelling from Uluru to Darwin. We trust they will appreciate the beauty of the outback and will have many stories and photos to share upon their return.

Elevate Seminar

On Tuesday, ahead of our Year 11 examinations, all students participated in an Elevate study session. Joining us from afar, many Elevate educators came to our school (via Microsoft Teams) to present an engaging presentation about believing in ourselves with hopes to increase our confidence going forward in school life.

Focusing on three key areas, motivation, belief and goals, we learnt about the importance of goal setting and the key themes that relate to it.

Overall, this session provided our year level with fantastic skills and knowledge which we will take with us throughout our time here at the College and into the future.
