Prep News

In Prep we have hit the ground running with all of our learning. We have also enjoyed practising for the musical and celebrating our Mums for Mother’s Day. Last Friday we pampered our Mums in the Prep classroom. We made bracelets, decorated biscuits, drew pictures, read stories and we sang them a song to tell our Mums how much we love them.

We would love to share with you all the exciting and wonderful things we have been up to in the Prep classroom.

Writing:

In Writing we have been taking risks and becoming independent writers. We have had a go at drawing pictures, sounding out words to help us with our writing and making sure to include capital capital, finger space and full stop. Oscar had a go at drawing and writing about possums, Charlotte was very excited to write about a mermaid and Isabelle enjoyed writing about bunny rabbits. We are very proud of the writing that we have done.

Maths:

In Maths we have enjoyed learning all about 2d and 3d shapes. We have enjoyed playing “guess my shape” where we have to pick a shape out of a bag and try to describe the features of the shape without telling our friends the name of the 2d shape. We have also enjoyed creating images and monsters using a variety of 2d shapes.

UOI:

We have been really enjoying our current UOI “understanding the properties of materials inform design and construction.” We are currently exploring and using a range of materials to construct a house for a possum. It has been lots of fun working out which materials are the best to use when making our possum house. We can’t wait to show you all our final product soon.
