Can you believe it is nearly the end of Term 2? Certainly I can’t - time flies when you are having fun and learning lots. Thank you everyone for your support last Thursday during the snow. With the majority of our staff residing in Orange, it was very hard to staff our school.
This term we have enjoyed returning to PSSA and CHS sporting competitions, with hockey, netball, soccer, basketball, football all resuming. Molong as our history shows, can certainly hold their own in the sporting arena.
We are currently preparing for subject selection for Year 10 going into Year 11 with booklets coming out the first week back in Term 3. This is an exciting time as our students enter their final stage of their Molong Central School journey.
Reports are currently being finalised for all Primary students and will be sent home with students on the last day of this term. Accompanying these reports will be an invitation to attend Parent/Teacher interviews on either Monday 19th or Tuesday 20th July in the school Library.
Years 7-10 reports will be posted out to parents and caregivers towards the end of term. Parent Teacher interviews will be held on the afternoon of Tuesday 20th July in A Block. I would encourage you to take this opportunity to discuss your child’s education.
Education Week celebrations are coming up in Week 3 of Term 3. We will be hosting a celebration and sharing with you the many wonderful opportunities Molong Central School students enjoy. The theme will be Life Long Learners. I’m sure we can all attest that learning does not simply stop at the end of our schooling days!
Early next term our school is undertaking External Validation. Once, during a four-year cycle, schools undergo an external validation of the evidence of their school self-assessment. Each year approximately 25% of schools are selected as a representative sample across School Performance Directorates. Schools engage in discussions with an external panel and have their self-assessments validated using the School Excellence Framework (SEF). The panel, comprising of a Principal School Leadership (PSL) and a peer Principal, meet with the school external validation team and determine whether the school's evidence supports their self-assessment using each element of the SEF. Our staff and leadership team have been working hard to prepare for this and have enjoyed collecting and analysing this evidence.
From all of the staff at Molong Central School I would like to wish you all a safe holiday in the upcoming weeks.
