Naplan
This week was a different week, we had Naplan from Tuesday - Thursday. The tests ranged from different subjects such as Language Conventions, Reading, Writing and Numeracy. All the schools from Primary schools to High schools did Naplan. The teachers instructed what to do and how to do it. It was very independent and was different to your usual test. We were nervous at the start but after the first test we were all fine with it. It challenged us all a little bit but in the end we got through it. We had a booklet and had a certain amount of time to answer the questions. We could only use a 2B or HB pencil. Our opinion on Naplan is that it is a test that sees how you are going so far throughout the year and it is for teachers to see if they have taught us something the right way.

Naplan- The year 5 NAPLAN test. On Tuesday for NAPLAN the year 5's had Grammar and Writing. For Grammar we had to fill out bubbles and correct punctuation and spelling mistakes. Then on Wednesday we had Reading Comprehension. The next day we had Maths.
At the start of the Term 2 the 5/6’s were given a literacy show bag project to do for homework. Every Tuesday we get new tasks based on a book we have read. We got a bag and we had to decorate it because at the end of the term we bring back everything we have made or written in the bag back to school and present it to the class.
This term we were given a famous person from Australia to research. We had to write all the information about the person in a google doc. Then they put it in a google slide. When everyone is finished they have to present it to the class.

Congratulations to all the students who took part in the Interschool Cross Country event last week. All the students showed tremendous teamwork and it was beautiful to see all of them cheer each other on throughout the entire day. Although it was a tiring day, it was a lot of fun!!! Thanks to Mr Frank & Laura (Sebastian C's mum) for helping us on the day. Many thanks to all the parents and other family members who came and cheered us on as well.
