Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting

Hi everyone!
Semester 2 PLSP Goal Setting
Our teachers are currently in the process of reviewing and/or developing your child's PLSP goals for Semester 2. Undoubtedly, many families will have made contact with their child's teacher to exchange feedback and discuss these goals in recent SSG meetings in the last few weeks. A final draft of your child/ren's Semester 2 PLSP Report/s will be distributed to you in Week 10.
JSA Library
It is exciting that our library will be operating digitally next week. Having developed both a 'JSA Library Policy' and 'Library Borrowing Manual', all staff and students can follow our set expectations and procedures to schedule a time to visit, to access texts for both staff and class groups accordingly.
Future plans for our library will include:
- promoting key school events, e.g. Education Week, the Premier's Reading Challenge, the Scholastic Book Fair
- implementing multiple iPad devices to enhance borrowing access
- providing student individual borrowing access for our senior students

JSA Mini Olympics Extravaganza

Subject to the current COVID Restrictions set in our latest DET Operations Guide, parents will not be able to attend onsite on this day. If there are any changes to these restrictions, further information will be communicated.
Accelerus Update
In Evaluating and Diagnosing our school functions and processes in implementing Accelerus for reporting processes at JSA, we have identified specific areas for improvement to enhance our current practice. These include:
- developing student, class, sub school and whole school data analysis tools to collate and report PLSP goal achievement to all key community stakeholders
- streamline the family distribution process for both PLSP Reports and Semester Reports (implementing 3 separate sub-school distributions)
- transitioning from an onsite hosting arrangement to an off-site arrangement to access necessary expertise from the Accelerus Team
With these changes, we can ensure:
- an effective transition to a more accurate and effective means of measuring our student's achievements across all areas of the curriculum semester-by-semester.
- a more reliable and efficient distribution of reports prior to the end of each term.
- that in significant emergency situations (i.e. affecting our ability to access electricity, water damage), our school data will remain protected when managed offsite.
