Technical Numeracy

Over the past two weeks students have been participating in projects that are linked to the real world. They have used their numeracy skills to construct, analyse, problem solve and create. The projects have included:

• Bridge building – which shape is the strongest?
• Food budgeting & cooking – the muffins were delicious
• Exploring angles in catapults – design for distance and accuracy
• Are you faster than Usain Bolt? – speed calculations, timing, graphing were a few of the numeracy skills used
• Song writing – turning favourite songs into a Maths version with a video
