As we enter week 4 (almost halfway through term 3), I am pleased to say that students and staff have welcomed the return to school and onsite teaching and learning. Students have settled back quickly, keen to connect with friends and get back into the routine of face-to-face learning.

It must be said that with each return to school both staff and students can become a little wearier than the last time. We understand that moving in and out of lockdowns and remote and flexible learning certainly isn’t easy, particularly with the added personal and professional pressures this puts on parents, families, and staff. However, we would like to thank our students, teachers, and parents for your resilience and support in embracing the fifth remote and flexible learning period. We are very proud of our students and the NMPS community as we continue to pivot back and forth between remote and face-to-face learning.

COVIDSafe Principles

As with every return to school, after a period of remote and flexible learning period, there are updated operational guidelines we must adhere to. Please ensure you read through this newsletter carefully and that you are up to date on the current operational changes in place.

Term 3 highlights...so far

Some key highlights I would like to acknowledge and bring to your attention are our Prep’s 100th Day at school (celebrated virtually on 21st July) and the Specialist Olympic Day. Both these events were recognised in our Virtual Assembly on Friday 30th July.

Prep 100/120 Days of School

I would like to congratulate our Prep students on all their achievements thus far this year. Given we were in remote and flexible learning on their 100th day, the preps will be celebrating their 120th day at school on Wednesday 18th August. We look forward to this milestone event!

Mini-Olympics

Thank you to our specialist teaching team and students for their efforts on our Olympic Day. We were very impressed by the creativity demonstrated by students, as they challenged themselves to complete the tasks in unique and engaging ways. The snippets shared of students partaking in the activities on the day were a joy to watch. Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey

The Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education and Training that is conducted amongst a sample of randomly selected parents/caregivers/guardians.

It is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, student engagement, and experiences in remote and flexible learning. Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies.

Baby News

We are pleased to welcome the newest member of our NMPS family – baby Lottie. We would like to send our heartfelt congratulations to Mike and Allie and wish them all the best at this special time.

New Campus Update

Exciting times as construction of our new campus will start shortly, led by builders, Hansen Yuncken (HY).

You may notice some early works activities taking place by the builders on-site such as putting up hoarding around the campus site, creation of sheds for the builders, and leveling the ground.

We’re really looking forward to sharing a communications pack that will soon be unveiled by the Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA).

Just to let you know, that I am working closely with the VSBA project team and have provided our school walking route plans to help support the safety of students and pedestrians to and from school.
