Remote Learning 5

Last Thursday, as the day went on, we all became resigned to the inevitable – Lockdown and Remote Learning was upon us once again.  As a result we found ourselves pivoting to a learning grid and then, with the increasing COVID case numbers and extended lockdown, the full activation of our traditional learning from home website.  Fingers crossed we’ll all be back learning onsite on Wednesday July 28th.

Thank you to our community for your collective flexibility and resilience.  ‘Pivoting’ certainly is the new norm, especially if you happen to be having a lockdown birthday!

All the best, stay safe!

Parent/Carer/Guardian Opinion Survey

The Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education and Training.  It is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, student engagement and experiences of remote and flexible learning.  Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies.

This year, the Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey will be conducted from now to Sunday 22nd August.  The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time within the fieldwork period on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones.  The online survey will be available in a range of languages other than English. These include: Arabic, Vietnamese, Mandarin, Chin (Hakha), Hindi, Japanese, Somali, Turkish, Punjabi and Greek.

Please head to Compass for access instructions.

Facilities Update

With the school’s closure comes opportunities for Kim to continue his great work attending to the school’s facilities and grounds. When PTC students and families that access the school through Gate 2 return, they will be met with a rejuvenated avenue of gardens. This enhancement will add more light into the southern facing PTC, ensure tree debris doesn’t go into gutters and allow sunlight onto the path which will, in turn, prevent the muddy patches on the walkway.
