Past student Amanda Ling joins AFLW 

The AFLW draft was held Tuesday night and Amanda Ling (who completed VCE at Koonung in 2019) has been selected to join the Western Bulldogs. Amanda has been volunteering at Koonung, assisting Interschool Sport Coordinator Sam Prosenak,  with some of our interschool sports teams this year.

Amanda was injured in 2019 and with a limited draft due to COVID19  in 2020, did not get selected. Since then Amanda has come back stronger than ever and has set herself as a major contender for AFLW.  

The Koonung community wish Amanda all the very best and we look forward to following Amanda's journey with interest.

Ling has shot up the ranks after being overlooked in last year's draft. Now with some consistent footy under her belt after missing 2019 with a hamstring injury, Ling is a dogged ball-winner who loves tackling and putting on defensive pressure. Won the best on ground in this year's NAB League Grand Final and is incredibly driven.

Interschool Sport 

Sadly, all interschool sports have been disrupted or postponed due to lockdown. New dates will be communicated once finalised. 

Reminders for Interschool Sport 

1. Check Compass regularly for information about team sign-ups.
2. Please ensure payment and consent is provided by the due date (at least 3 days prior to the event, otherwise it will result in the student being unable to attend the event)
3. If students decide to pull out of the event before the day, they MUST let either the teacher coaching the team OR Miss Prosenak know ASAP so that we can find another student as a replacement. If not, the team may not have enough players and be unable to go. Simply leaving your payment/consent unattended on Compass is not enough. This helps us to plan or amend bus bookings, staffing and costs for the day.
