Lions Club Public Speaking

On Thursday we had over fifty students across 3/4/5/6 give a speech in front of a small group with a teacher present. The 3/4 students were required to speak about a community group and 5/6 students discussed renewable energy. The staff then selected twenty-five students (boys and girls across grades 3/4/5/6) to present to the judges on Friday. We had three visitors from Beechworth Lions Club join us on Friday and listen to the speeches. They were incredibly impressed and the following students were awarded winner and runner up certificates:

Grade 3/4:

Winner - Olivia H

Runner Up - Olivia C

Grade 5/6:

Winner - Edward P

Runner Up - Olivia L

The winners will represent Beechworth Lions Club in the Zone Public Speaking Competition next semester. The runners up will be involved in the lead up as a reserve for the winners should they be unable to speak.

Well done everyone!

The 5/6 class will watch a movie together to finish off the semester. A note will come home later this week asking permission for your child to watch a PG-rated movie. If you would NOT like your child to watch the movie, please sign and send the letter back.
