PRINCIPAL'S REPORT

Carly Avery

On Monday our staff were fortunate to spend the somewhat chilly day in beautiful Bright. Maria Forde (Education Officer, Catholic Education Sandhurst), led us through a process of spiritual reflection and meditation. Thank you to Markeeta Green for her organisation of this retreat.

Tomorrow your child will bring home their Semester One school report. We encourage you to celebrate reading your child’s report and acknowledge their efforts and achievements this semester. I would also like to acknowledge your support over a busy semester and hope that you all enjoy the school holidays.

A reminder that we finish at 2:15pm this Friday, with Monday 12th July a Pupil Free Day, as staff will be attending the Maths Association Victoria Conference. Students to resume Tuesday 13th July.

Restriction Updates

Please note the following:

- Parents are now able to come on-site.

- Masks to be worn inside, staff do not need to wear when working with students.

- Masks to be worn outside when social distancing is not possible.

- QR codes at all entrances. Please note that those attending Their Care also need to register through the Their Care QR code.

Reconciliation

Congratulations to the 21 students who prepared with their family group for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. These students undertook this sacrament last Wednesday evening, an important milestone in their faith journey. Thank you to Markeeta Green for her organisation with Reconciliation, and to Father Tony and Father Mike for leading our celebration of this sacrament.

Teaching and Learning Focus:

Week two of next term there will be a formal opportunity for you to meet with your child/s class teacher.

- Tuesday 20th July 2:00pm- 7:00pm

- Wednesday 21st July 2:00- 5:30pm

The purpose of these meetings is to review any questions, concerns or achievements from student reports. It is also an opportunity to connect with your child/s academic goals for next semester.

Parent Engagement

Late last week I met with a group of parents from our social committee to plan for semester two. The main item on the agenda was the Art Show, which will take place late-term three. Watch this space for more details!

Unwell Students

Thank you to those families who are keeping students at home when showing symptoms similar to cold and flu until the symptoms go away or they have been cleared by a doctor. It is important that we are all vigilant when it comes to spotting potential problems with COVID 19.

We also appreciate it if students who have been vomiting stay at home for 48 hours after their last illness. Thank you.
