Where did the 33rd pizza go?

During period 2 and 3 this week, the two MyCity classes merged to present their groups’ Trivia Activity.  Each group presented their category and corrected the group’s answers. We had an exciting tally after each round to establish the final winning group.

To prepare for our exciting Trivia activities, the eight (8) groups researched various topics, which included:

  • ‘Famous faces and attractions’ in Melbourne;
  • ‘Places for fauna and flora’ in Victoria;
  • ‘Famous streets and markets/shops/ shopping precincts’ in  Melbourne and inner suburbs;
  • ‘Famous sports venues/sporting events/ sportspeople born in Melbourne;
  • ‘Famous songs’ about Melbourne;
  • ‘General knowledge’ on Melbourne; and
  • ‘World flags based on Melbourne’s Multicultural communities

The judges awarded three (3) prizes to the winning teams……But everyone was a winner.

Participants in the trivia activity were rewarded with a healthy feast of Pizza during their  lunch break. There were no complaints from the competing students after they consumed thirty-two (32) pizzas!  They all looked very content and maybe a little bloated. I am sure they will not eat their dinner tonight (teachers accept no responsibility, haha!!).  Teachers are conducting an investigation into the disappearance of the 33rd missing pizza, which mysteriously vanished.

In period 4, each of the MyCity classes merged with each of the MyFitness classes to showcase the highlights of the term.  Both teachers and students from the four groups shared their experiences and skills learning from each other.

Building 'Clean' Vehicles

Year 7 students have been learning about the Earth’s precious resources and the difference between renewable and non-renewable energy sources. As a result we built model cars that are either battery or wind powered. We then raced them to see which type was better. The students had a lot of fun!!
