UNIT OF WORK
Australia – Our Place in the World
Our Unit of Work this term is ‘Australia – Our Place in the World’. Students will focus on developing a geographical and cultural understanding of Australia, its indigenous inhabitants and our near neighbours.
What we expect the students to learn in Unit of Work:
Students will learn about:
- Australia’s states and territories, and its major natural and human characteristics
- The many Countries/Places of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples throughout Australia, and the custodial responsibility they have for Country/Place, and how this influences views about sustainability
- The different characteristics of places in different locations
- The interconnections within places and between places
