Junior school news 

Welcome!

A huge welcome to our new Year 7 students and a big welcome back to our Year 8s. We hope they had a great holiday and are ready for a productive year!

We also extend a very warm welcome to all new Year 8 students. We hope you settle in quickly and make lots of new friends.

Thank you to all of the teachers who were involved in the two day transition program for year 7 students. The students had a great few days getting to know their classmates and teachers, getting connected to the network, familiarising themselves with school rules and expectations and navigating around the school on a scavenger hunt! The first week of official classes started with a whole school ‘Welcome Assembly’ which will become one of their fond memories of the start of their Year 7 journey.

Uniform

Could all parents please make sure that ALL clothing is clearly named. We often find jumpers, blazers or PE gear left at school and we cannot return it if it is not named.

Year 7 Camp – Arrabri Lodge

All Year 7 students will be attending a camp at Arrabri Lodge in Warburton East in the week of 22 February. 

Please note the dates of camp below as there were some inconsistencies on Compass.

          CAMP 1 – 7 A, C, G, H    Monday 22 February – Wednesday 24 February

          CAMP 2 – 7 B, D, E, F     Wednesday 24 February – Friday 26 February

This is a fantastic opportunity for the students to get to know each other and for them to get to know their teachers in a relaxed setting. More information regarding camp and for parents to provide consent is on the Compass Parent Portal. 

Could all parents/guardians please ensure they complete the consent for camp, which is on Compass.

Year 7 Parent Information Evening

Year 7 Parents are invited to attend an information night on Tuesday 9 February, 7pm. More information is in your email. We are sure you have many questions about how the school day runs now that your daughter has started here. We would also like you to meet other parents from your child’s class as well as some of the teachers. A face mask will be required. 

Year 8 Elevate

The Year 8 students will be attending a session on time management run by Elevate Education period 4, Friday 5 February. These skills will stand them in good stead for all years and we encourage the girls to practise them so that they become more effective learners.  

Elevate will be running a Parent Session on Thursday 25 March, 5 - 6pm as we would like you to hear the information so that you can encourage your daughter to use those skills at home when studying. 

Year 8 Camp

Year 8 Camp will not be running in 2021. We will be providing some fun activities to allow students to build relationships with other students in the year level.
