College Matters

Student photos

Monday 8 February is photo day for students in year 8 to 12.

Year 7 students and staff who were absent on Thursday 28 January will be able to have their photos taken at lunchtime. There will be another photo opportunity at the College on Monday 15 February for individuals who have missed the previous photo day/s.

Year 11 and 12 students will be photographed during period 1. There are no scheduled classes at this time, so students will be expected to come to school from 8.45 am onwards. The venue is the gymnasium.

This year all photos can be ordered through Compass.

Work Experience

A Work Experience program for year 10 students will run in term 2 from 3 to 7 May.

Completed forms are due to the careers office by Friday 19 March.

Most students will find their own placement. However, we would welcome businesses connected to our school community offering opportunities for our students to have a work experience.

If able or interested and more information, please contact Karen Garton, our Careers and Pathways coordinator, email karen.garton@education.vic.gov.au

Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund applications

The Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund (CSEF) helps eligible families to cover the costs of school trips, camps and sporting activities. If you have a valid means-tested concession card, such as a Veterans Affairs Gold Card, Centrelink Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card, or are a temporary foster parent, you may be eligible. There is also a special consideration category for asylum seeker and refugee families.

Payment amounts this year are $225 for eligible secondary school students. Payments are made direct to the school to use towards expenses relating to camps, excursions and sporting activities for the benefit of your child.

If you applied for CSEF through our school last year, you do not need to complete an application form this year, unless there has been a change in your family circumstances.

If you would like to apply for the first time, please contact the school office on 9581 5200 and ask for an application form to be emailed to you. You can also download the form, and find out more about the program and eligibility, on the DET’s Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund web page on

https://www.education.vic.gov.au/about/programs/Pages/csef.aspx .

Check with the school office if you are unsure, and please return completed forms to the school office as soon as possible.
