Photo Competition

We acknowledged the talent shown by our young photographers in the annual Boarders' Photography Competition. Entries could be made in two categories; landscapes or characters. The quality of entrants was very high, with works displayed in the Dining Hall this term while the boarders considered their votes. Congratulations to runners-up, Bethany Robertson and Karis Cristinelli (for two photos), and to the winner, Hamish Medway, who named his photo Harvest Lightning. The photos are displayed in the Dining Hall for all to enjoy.

Lights Out

It has been a while since ABSA updated their Facebook cover photo, so they thought this would be a fantastic opportunity for another photo competition!

Although we are still waiting to hear which school won the competition, the entry from Great Southern Grammar made it to the cover of the most recent Lights Out magazine. The image features Amy Medway, Eilidh Kershaw, Keira Tapscott, Brianna Cunningham, Eliza McNeil-Hanna, Lysbeth Cunningham, L'eja Pigram and Chloe Climie. You can view the latest edition here.

Year Nine Family Outings

Recently, the Year Nine cohort attended their annual Girls' High Tea and Boys Bowls and Barbecue events. Please enjoy images of boarding families who attended these events.

Christmas Dinner

On Tuesday 10 December, we celebrated our annual Christmas dinner at which we said farewell to a number of staff and students who will be leaving Great Southern Grammar at the end of 2020. Please enjoy this gallery of images.

Indigenous Art Initiative

For the past two months, GSG's Yalari scholars have been working on a symbolic piece of Indigenous art with renowned local artist, Mr Tom Dimer. These pieces represent the various regions GSG boarders come from. The dreaming animals, or totems, given to some Indigenous children at birth, are represented on the artwork, along with the handprints, which traditionally acts as a signature for Indigenous artists.

These beautiful pieces hang proudly in the Senior School foyer for all to enjoy. Well done to Mariah Lennard, Chenae Wreford, Leonie Ozies, Jaelan Scott, Faith Bin Omar, Charlie Ritchie, Joy Blurton, Eliza McNeil-Hanna and L'eja Pigram.
