Wellbeing Update

'At St Anthony’s we strive to provide safe classroom communities that provide students with a sense of safety, affirmation and belonging, alongside opportunities to explore faith and social / emotional skills.'

As we come to the end of the year that really tested our strength and resolve, we can look at the past year in two ways. We can choose to remember the year in a negative way- and let’s face it, that is so easy to do as there was so much heartache and loss for so many all over the world.  Our thoughts and prayers remain with those trying to adjust to a new ‘normal’ because of the impact of Covid19.

We can also choose to reflect on the ‘silver linings’ that were a part of this life changing year.

In our community here at St Anthony’s we saw

  • teachers learn new ways to engage students
  • students learning new ways to access their learning
  • parents taking on roles that they never thought they would need to
  • all of us working together to jump hurdles, crawl through tight spaces and come out on top

Throughout it all, relationships strengthened, parents, students and teachers came together and made it work. WE did it, all of us! And for that we say thank you.

Thanks to the teachers for adjusting access to assist all students to engage

Thanks to the students for staying the course and in many ways, teaching us how to be resilient.

Thank you to the parents and caregivers, the aunts, uncles, grandparents, friends, neighbours who supervised our students ensuring they accessed their learning.

As 2020 draws to a close, we wish you a peaceful Christmas, surrounded by 30 of your closest.

May the peace of Christ be with you.

Stay safe and we look forward to seeing you in 2021!
