A Prayer of Gathering

Our prayer is focussed on how we can prepare ourselves to begin our journey this year. Last year we began with a lighthouse, we were hoping and praying to be guided by the light. We were guided, but not on the journey we were expecting to travel. 

This year our school theme, our mission is to ‘Believe the Good News!’ This is taken directly from Mark's Gospel, as it is Year B in the Liturgical calendar. 

This theme invites a personal commitment, it invites individuals to action. It provides us with an invitation, an opportunity to take a leap of faith, to find the positive, the good in every situation, in every person and in every part of our 2021 journey.

Our prayer today focusses on how we can fulfil our destiny for 2021.

Let us pray:

For your goodness and generosity in giving us all we need,

Help us to praise you O God.

In every circumstance of life,

in good times and bad,

Help us to trust you, O God.

In love and faithfulness,

with all that we have and all that we are,

Help us to serve you, O God.

As we speak or write or listento those nearby or far away,

Help us to share your love, O God.

In our plans and workfor ourselves and for others,

Help us to glorify you, O God.

In every thought and word and deed,

by the power of your Holy Spirit,

This day, this week, this term, this year, may we live for you, O God.
