Principal's Message
From the Principal
Welcome back as we commence our new school year at Christ Our Holy Redeemer! A big WELCOME to our new families who have joined our community with our new Prep intake. We hope you enjoy your time here at COHR and feel very welcome in our community.
It has certainly been wonderful having parents on site in the courtyard at the beginning and end of each day. This makes the school feel more like a community.
Let's hope that 2021 is a far better year than 2020 and that we remain on-site for the entire year. We will continue to have our COVID safe plan in action and will adapt this as advised and when required throughout the year.
Tomorrow morning, immediately after the bell, we will hold a Beginning of Year Liturgy in the courtyard. All parents are welcome to come along.
Prep Family Welcome Night
The Preps commenced last Thursday and are settling in extremely well to the routines of school life. Tonight our Prep families have been invited to the oval for a family welcome night. This will be an opportunity for our Prep parents and their children to meet with one another at the start of the year in an informal setting.
School Upgrades
Over the January break we managed a few upgrades to our school to ensure we are continuing to provide a safe and appealing learning environment for all.
New carpet and lino has been laid in the Prep and 1/2 classrooms and corridor as well as a full classom of lino laid in the new Art Room.
Some exterior painting has also taken place as well as a top-up of soft fall to the adventure playground equipment on the oval.
NEW Art Room
Yesterday we held art lessons in our new Art Room. This room was originally a classom and now has now been transformed into a new learning space for our students. Mrs Hunt, our art teacher, is enjoying access to 4 taps and easy access to art supplies. Our senior students have already commenced creating some terrific art pieces.
Parent Information Evenings
These meetings will be a valuable opportunity to meet class teachers, hear more about class expectations and responsibilities of your children as well as hearing a little about the focus of the year.
Meetings will be held via a Google Meet. Each classroom teacher will send the link to parents prior to the meeting. These meetings will run for approximately 40-50 minutes and will take place on the following days next week.

Parent Teacher Chats via GOOGLE MEET
Parents are invited to meet with their child's classroom teacher on either Tuesday 16th (4pm - 7pm) or Wednesday 17th February (3:50-5:00pm). These interviews will be held via Google Meet.
These interviews are an opportunity for parents to share with their child's teacher relevant information which will assist the teacher to better understand the needs of their child as a learner. Interviews have been allocated in 10 minute time slots.

Class teachers will also use this app to inform families of classroom notices. The Flexischools app can be downloaded onto an android device, iPhone, iPad or a windows phone. We are hoping that all parents join so that we can improve our communication with you. For those of you who have already downloaded the app, please ensure you have updated your child's new class to receive the relevant information.

Pastoral Care
During the holidays one of our dads was diagnosed with stage four cancer. We would ask that you keep this family in your prayers over the coming months as he undergoes treatment.
If you are in a position to provide a meal for a family of four I know this would be welomed by the family. Fresh or frozen meals can be left at the school office. With thanks in advance for your support.
