Welcome back to all of our existing parents and families! A special welcome also to our brand new families joining Heritage College for the first time.

It warmed my heart this morning to see our students flood into the school and to hear the buzz and excitement amongst our students - young and old alike. As I walked around the secondary school at our Officer campus, I saw students engaged in their learning and teachers giving their first lessons for the year. Heritage College teachers share their learning intentions with students and make it clear what learning will take place. Here Mr Camps is giving a general overview of some of the projects that have been constructed in past years as examples of the learning to come.

Prep to Year 10 students at Heritage College are also blessed to receive a stationery pack. Here are some Year 8 students opening their stationery packs before launching into their learning for the lesson. This certainly saves our parents from walking the aisles of Office works, along with hundreds of other hard working parents in preparation for the new school year. Then standing in line to purchase their stationery. (Although...I imagine there are some parents who actually look forward to this experience!).

Also, at both of our campuses we had a number of Prep students start school for the first time. We hold the Tea & Tissues morning for our parents and prep students. Morning tea for our parents and also tissues for our parents as they farewell their little ones.

Here are the prep students at our Officer campus as they started their day together. What a great start to the year and one that is a very positive indicator for great things to come.

Families will be able to also enjoy our College Yearbook from 2020 which was so carefully pieced together by Mr Evan Varty. Please take some time to look through its pages and enjoy the memories contained within. Don’t forget to keep this in a safe place. These Yearbooks hold so many great memories that your children will want to look back at in many years to come.

I look forward to catching up with you all as the year progresses. I will also commence a few of my 2020 videos and show you a few places around the College. At the time of writing this article the Officer Campus Primary school extension is almost 100% complete. You are more than welcome to come for a quick look around and enjoy your primary school at Officer. Even if you are a parent from our Narre Warren South campus, you are more than welcome to also come along to the Officer campus to have a look. Don’t forget to sign in first before you walk up.

There are many exciting activities planned and coming up for all students but for now I will simply say, “It’s great to have you all back!” and I look forward to seeing you in the near future.
