Avocado Day in 3/4A!
We spent a whole day celebrating the humble avocado in the classroom. Is it a fruit? Is it a berry? Who cares! We bow down to you, oh sweet avocado!
We spent the day making avocado characters, researching avocados, writing avocado narratives and of course making guacamole. What a day it was!
Grade 3/4 students have continued to explore the connection between fractions, decimals and percentages. In 3/4B, we used dominoes to connect equivalent fractions and decimals to each other to create a domino chain.
: In 3/4C, students finished off the year with creative writing, where they created many expressive and engaging poems. One of our favourite types of poems included our Ode’s, where students wrote to Christmas, as well as other students in the class.
As students prepare for 2021, here we have Georgia P and Jaimee R. They have been having a happy time during transition this week. They have met their teacher for 2021 and their new classmates. The “All About Me” bunting activity allows students to write down some of their favourite things and, through sharing their favourite things, the students get to see who else likes the same sorts of things. And PRESTO!! The beginnings of beautiful, new friendships!
