School Parking

 Drop Off and Pick Up Zone - Improvements

Following recent discussions held between Banyule City Council and Montmorency Primary School, it was observed that a lack of short-term drop off and pick up parking opportunities exist for parents along the school’s frontages to Sylvan Street and Alban Street. 

Upon inspection by Council’s Traffic and Transport department, locations along Alban Street and Sylvan Street have been identified where it is considered appropriate to make the following changes:

• Change three unrestricted parking spaces on the west side of Sylvan Street to 5-minute parking, between 8am – 9.30am and 2.30pm to 4pm, School Days.

• Change four unrestricted parking spaces on the east side of Alban Street to 5-minute parking, between 8am – 9.30am and 2.30pm to 4pm, School Days.

• Modify the existing No Stopping parking restrictions on the east side of Alban Street, to allow one additional unrestricted parking space.

It is anticipated that the proposed restrictions will ease the traffic congestion at school starting and finishing times without compromising the safety of school children.
