Visual Arts

Greetings from the Art Room!
For the next few weeks our art making will be Christmas focused.
This week Foundation students have created beautiful drawings of baby Jesus in the manger, as well as learning the song Away in the Manger. We used the book Jesus' Christmas Party by Nicolas Allan as our inspiration.
Grade 1 and 2 have produced beautifully colourful Rudolph the Red nosed reindeers using paint slicks, pencils and markers.
Grade 3 and 4 are making translucent pictures of Christmas scenes with layers of tracing paper and markers. We discovered that you can use baking paper as a substitute for tracing paper.
After looking at the history of wreaths Grade 5 and 6 have made Christmas wreaths from painted paper scraps that we had left over from another project. They look quite stunning.
One more week of Art making to go!
Best regards,
